Easter, Wedding, Cookoff

Wow, I cant believe how fast the month of April has flown by. Before I know it, it will be May!! Which I am okay with. That only means a few more weeks of school and then its summer time:) Well, we have been no stop busy since Spring Break. The last weekend of March was the Annual Easter Egg Hunt at our church. Lily really enjoyed Easter Egg hunting this year.

Waiting for the Easter egg hunt to begin.

Picking her eggs up. Lily would shake every single one before she would put it in the basket. She was so excited to hear something rattle inside the egg.

Lily with ALL her eggs!!

The next weekend was Easter Weekend. We had a friend come in to town and spend the weekend with us. We stayed up Saturday night and decorated Easter eggs. As you can see by the pictures Lily got into the decorating.

Easter morning with Mommy. I bought her that hat last year of Easter. She didn't want to wear it last year, but this year she didn't want to take it off her head:)

The Peek Family on Easter!!

The next weekend, April 10th, was Melissa's wedding. Friday evening we had to take a trip to the ER because Kane sliced a hole on the side of his finger sharpening a pencil with a box cutter:( Not very smart!!! Well, we got up late on Saturday, but luckily the wedding was in College Station so we didn't have far to go!!! We had a great time celebrating with our friends. Melissa was a beautiful bride. Lily would just sit there a stare at Melissa. I think maybe Lily thought Melissa was a princess!!!

Me, Beth, Melissa and Jennifer at the Wedding.

Now, that brings me to this weekend. This weekend was the Montgomery County BBQ Cook off. We were invited last year to meet some of Kane's co-workers up there who enter every year. We were invited again this year under one condition, I bring them my homemade banana pudding:) So, last night I stayed up till midnight making banana pudding!!! It was worth the time because they feed me some awesome BBQ today!!! We had smoked brisket, chicken, ribs and sausage!! Can you say I probably gained 5 pounds today. After eating lunch we decide to walk around and let Lily see the animals and ride a few rides.
Lily in front of the fake pigs!! She thought they were real:)

Lily loved loved the animals. Here is Lily petting the baby goat!!
The rest of April is going to continue to fly by. Next weekend we have Noah's 3rd birthday party. Kane will be out of town turkey hunting with his friend. I guess that means it will be a girl's weekend:) Then the following week is TAKS testing. My kiddos have been preparing for this test ALL year. I am just as nervous and excited as they are!!! Wish my kiddos luck!!!

Spring Break

I can't believe how fast Spring Break went by. The past two years I have spent Spring break at home relaxing. My first year Lily was about a week old, so of course I had to stay at home. Last year, I also stayed home and didn't do alot. So, this year I planned to be active.
Well, Spring Break started with Lily's 2nd birthday party. All of family came and a really great friend Jennifer and her son Kolby.
Sunday~We didn't do much we went to lunch with Kane's family and then we just hung out at the house.
Monday~I had lunch with my old Math Instructional Specialist Debbie at Chilis. We had a great conservation and she helped me relax about our upcoming TAKS test. She convinced me last year to go to third grade:) I have enjoyed every minute of that decision. Thanks Debbie!!!
Tuesday~I went to lunch with another great group of girls. We ate at Alisha's...yummy!!! We brought our Kiddos...so it was great to just hang out, eat, and catch up!!!
Jen C., Beth, Me, and Jennifer

The kiddos!!!

After eating lunch, I met Isabel, the best shopping buddy in the world, at The Outlets. We had a great afternoon shopping in the rain:) I found a dress for Melissa's upcoming wedding...yay!!! I also found not one but two dresses for Lily for Easter. Now I just need to decide which one she is going to wear. It was a great day till I locked myself out of the car with Lily inside it:( I had to stand in the rain for an hour while I waited for the locksmith guy. Thank god there was two very sweet ladies who came to my rescue. I finally did get a hold of my husband and he called my friend Jennifer and she came to my rescue to make sure I was okay...thanks Jennifer!!!

Wednesday~ Was uneventful:) It was filled with doctor's appt. and doing laundry to get ready for our little vacation.

Thursday~ Kane and I both had a 9:00 appt. So, after our appts. it was off to Grapevine for our vacation at the Great Wolf Lodge with my parents. When we got there we just hung out and walked around the resort.

Kane and Lily the first day.

That night we ate dinner there at the Lodge. At 8:00 every night they have story time with Wille. Here is Lily and Aidan with Lily. Lily would not stand there unless the lady stood with her. I will have to crop her out when I get the picture developed:)
Friday~ We spent all day at the water park. They have an indoor water park. It was fun to just hang out with my parents and nephew. That evening, the kiddos played in the arcade, ate ice cream and just hung out.

Saturday~ It was time to go home. We stopped by my parents house for just a bit and then it was time to make our way back.

Sunday~ I woke up sick and stayed in bed all day. It was a horrible way to end a great Spring Break:(

Well, the first week back to school went by quick...whooh for that:) We started our Math Reviews this week for our upcoming Math TAKS test. I just wish it would get here already. I am excited and nervous to see how my kiddos perform. I have faith in every single one of them that they are going to do an awesome job!!! Well, I think we have like 9 weeks of school left before summer break!!! I can't wait for it to get here. Spending all day and every day with my daughter is the best thing in the world:):)

Lily's 2nd Birthday

Well, Lily is 2!!! I can't believe how time has just flown by. Lily turned 2 on March 10th. Two years ago I had gone into labor about midnight on Sunday. Now that I think about it I believe I was having contractions starting the previous Thursday. I just thought I had gas...lol. Well, that weekend we worked in the yard and I cleaned my house. We had taco salad for dinner and about midnight I woke up with the worse pain in the world. Well, I thought I was just constipated or had really bad gas. Either way I did everything the doctor told me to do, try and eat something, lay a different way, walk around, take a shower, etc. Well about 330am I could not handle the pain anymore so I told Kane we needed to go because the pain just would not stop. So, we got dress I called my long-term sub and we went to the hospital. When we got there I told the nurse that I was either in labor or I was constipated, either way you are going to do something for the pain!!! So, they took me back and examined me and the nurse was like "No you are not constipated, you are in labor and you are 5cm!!!" That was at about 5:00 that morning. So, we get to the room and they start all the paperwork and examining all the necessary stuff they have to do!! Well, they thought Lily was breach...so they kept checking me, well while they are checking me I thought I pee on the lady...I could feel my face get red:p Well, she looks at me and says "Your water just broke and you are now 6cm." So within like 30 min I had already dilated 1cm. So, I thought this is good, I can handle this it hasnt been too bad...I was still talking and walking and texting during all of this...well...then it hit me like a ton of bricks!!! Within 30 mins I was asking for some meds...well I finally gave in and said I wanted the epidural...I was dead set on not having one...the whole idea of having a needle in my back I did not like...well after they did that they checked me again and I was 8cm...well that explains the pain!!!! So, neways life was better and Lily was moving right along!!! I practiced pushing off and on for about 6 hours...Lily was still way tooo high, that's why they thought she was breach, and when it was finally time to go...I did three good pushes and Lily was born at 1:08pm!!! She was 6lbs 13oz and 19 1/2 inches long!!! My life has not been the same since that moment. Lily has grown so much this past year. She now is trying to go potty, she can count to 10 with help, she loves to sing and dance, she knows her colors and shapes, all of her body parts, she can make a few three word sentences, she has a sassy attitude, loves to shop of shoes and clothes and most of all loves to give big hugs and kisses!!! I know many of yall are thinking some of that is just TMI about her birth, but I have never just sat down and blogged about her birth. I think I did on MySpace when she was first born, but who checks MySpace anymore:P I just wanted to finally write down somewhere about her birth. I thought alot about her birth on her birthday and I guess all parents do...but I enjoyed every minute of her birth (even the pain) and don't ever want to forget it!!! Okay, I am done with the mushy stuff:)

So, this year for Lily's birthday we did a Yo Gabba Gabba theme. She aboustely loves that show!!! I even made her Brobee cake. It was a beautiful Saturday for a birthday party. All of my family and friends came to celebrate her birthday!!! It was a great day with some yummy brisket and chicken that Kane smoked!!!

Well, I can't wait to see what this year will bring for Lily. I so blessed to have a healthy happy daughter. I could not ask for anything more!!! Happy Birthday Lillian...Mommy and Daddy loves you!!!

TOO LoNg and TOO CoLd...

Its been a while since I have made a post. Alot has happened since then. My brother came to visit the first week in January. I haven't seen my older brother Edwin and my niece Kinslee in about two years. They both live in Kansas City, so I don't get to see them very often. Kinslee has never met her cousin Lily. They had a great time hanging out and playing. Well in those two days I was able to catch up with my brother and just enjoy him being home. We fight like brother and sister (of course) but he is my older brother and I LOVE him!!! I just can't wait till he moves back to Texas...which hopefully will be sooner than later:)

Me and the girls!!

Kane and the girls.
Lily went to her first Princess party today. One of my teacher friend's invited us to tag along with them. So, Kane insisted on buying her a princess dress from the Disney Store, I just wanted to go to Target. That is why she is a daddy's girl:) Well my friend ended up not being able to go, but we decide to go ahead and go since we have been telling her about it ALL week. Well we got her all dressed up and headed up to the mall. The Disney store hosted the princess party for the girls. They taught them many different princess things!!! Well, Lily lasted about 10 minutes and she was ready to go. Even though we didn't stay long I am glad we went. She was the cutest princess there!!!

Lily sitting on the floor with all the other girls.

Lily and her princess crown!!

She wanted to wear Kane's Yankee hat instead of the crown. That's daddy's girl:)

Her princess dress!!

Daddy and his princess.

It's hard being a princess:)
Well we didn't stay long at the princess party. Lily was ready to go after 10 minutes. So, we left, but not before she had to get the frogs and the alligator from the movie "The Princess and the Frog." Which by the way is a very cute movie that has great great music.
Well, school is moving right along. We have about 2 1/2 weeks till we take our Math CBA. Its a practice TAKS for the kids. Its going to show me where and who I need to go back and reteach. I cant believe it is already February and school will be out 4 months....whooh. I can't wait for summer, speaking of summer...this cold weather is crazy. I can't wait for spring time.I love the spring time here!!! Well I am going to go to bed, we have a busy day a church tomorrow and then my parents are coming into town. Happy January and welcome February!!!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Well Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!! I haven't been able to get on here in a couple of weeks!!! Well we had a busy busy Christmas. It started on:
Dec 21- with Lily and I going to my parents house in Arlington
Dec 22- We went to the Gaylord Texan Hotel to see the Christmas Ice Exhibit

They give you big blue parka to wear in there because everything is made of ice and its 10below. Well, Lily refused to wear her parka. She did not once complain about being cold!!!

Dec. 23- We went to see Alvin and the Chipmunks and finished up X-mas shopping
Dec. 24 - Christmas at my parents house!!

Lily and Aidan by the Christmas tree before we opened all the presents!!! That night we traveled to Kane's parents house in East Texas. We had a white Christmas Eve and it snowed on Christmas Day. That will probably be the last time in a long time that it snows on Christmas!!!
Dec. 25- Christmas at Kane's parents house...Lily got tons of Elmo stuff from Santa!!!

Dec. 26- We had Christmas dinner at Kane's granny's house. She is not doing to well so she was very happy to see all her grandchildren and great children at her house:)
Dec. 27- Finally we came home after being gone for a week!!! My bed never felt better:):)
Dec. 28- Kane and my parents took me to the Woodlands Surgery Center for my breast reduction!!!

My parents were here till Tuesday and then Kane's sister came down and stayed with us till today. We didn't do much for the new year, we stayed up to watch the ball drop in NYC and then we went to bed!!! I have just been sitting around and relaxing!!! I can't do much till I have to sit down and rest. I so far love love the new size, but don't enjoy the swelling and soreness:( But hey they will look good here shortly!!!

Well today Kane made some pork ribs for the New Year...yum yum!!! We also had mash potatoes and black eye peas!!! We hung out outside for a bit so Lily could ride her new bicycle her Aunt Wendy got her.

Well I hope everyone has a great and blessed New Year!!! I haven't made any new year resolutions yet!!! I will for sure eat healthier and work out more, but everyone says that!!! I do want to be a better mother, wife and friend...so maybe I will stick to those for right now and see what happens:):)

Breakfast with Santa

Our neighborhood that we live in is always doing wonderful things for the kids that live here. During Christmas, they have Breakfast with Santa at the Fire station. Since this is really the first year that Lily is noticing all the Christmas lights, Christmas decorations and that man that sits in the big chair at the mall, we decide to take her to breakfast with Santa, so that way we could avoid the long long line at the mall. When walked in she of course noticed Santa. She automatically started the fingers in the mouth. (that's what she does when she is not sure about the situation) Well, I was very surprised when she shook her head when I asked her if she wanted to sit on his lap. She did, without any tears:) She would not talk to him all she would do is shake her head when he talked to her. She did say "Elmo" when I asked her if she wanted "Elmo" for Christmas!!! Neways, we had a great time and I can't wait till Christmas when she gets to open all the wonderful things Santa is bringing her :P

Lily not too sure what to think???

She did remove her fingers from her mouth to get the Candy Cane.

Eating Candy for breakfast instead of the pancakes, eggs and sausage they had for us!!!

Mommy and Lily!!!

I hope everyone has a great Christmas!!! I have one more week of school and then I am off for two weeks. During that time I am going to go spend a week with my family, then we are going to Kane's parents house on Christmas Eve. We will be back that Sunday after Christmas to get me ready for my surgery on Monday the 28th. For the ones who don't know I am getting a breast reduction ,which I have wanted for many many years!!! I am super excited about it and very very nervous!!! So please pray for me that I get through the surgery and have a fast recovery:) Well Merry Christmas, Be Safe and God Bless!!!
