Fill in the Blank Friday

I am trying to become a more interesting blogger, so I have decide to start doing some of the cute blog entries that everyone does. Maybe it will get me some followers.... (maybe)
For my first one is Fill in the Blank Friday over at The little things we do... blog!!!

1. The last thing I do before going to sleep: Is check on Lily, check to make sure the door is locked and my phone is on the charger.

2. When I can't sleep: I watch TV or play on the computer.

3. The first thing I do when I wake up: Is go pee and get some water.

4. When I'm tired: I get SUPER cranky. Kane usually tells me to go lay down and take a nap.

5. My dream bedroom would be: Something better than what I have now. I haven't really thought about what I want. Right now my bedroom has two pictures on the wall and that's it. I do know I would like to have wood floors and either yellow or a pale light green on the walls...just a thought:)

6. If I could wake up anywhere tomorrow morning: It would be on the beach with Lily and Kane.

7. The longest sleep I've ever had was: Not really sure. I usually require 10 to 12 hours of sleep. I don't get that very often. When I get sick I usually lay in bed ALL day but I don't sleep ALL day, so not sure if that counts:)

Well, that was pretty easy for my first one!!! I still need to post pictures of my little vacation to my mom's house and mine and Kane's little get away last weekend!! I will try and do that later on tomorrow!!!

What's for DINNER???

A "New Twist to Lasagna" that is what we had for dinner. Over at Mommy's Kitchen I found a recipe for Pepperoni Lasagna Roll Ups. Let's just say they are as good as they look. Here is what my dinner looked like tonight...

Not the best picture...considering Kane was already scooping some out when I was trying to take the picture.

I have browsed through many of her recipes. Alot of them sound very yummy. She always includes step by step pictures. Which is awesome because sometimes when I make something if it looks like the picture then I feel like I did it right, but if there is no picture I always wonder if it looks like it should.

I have also made her Sopapilla Cheesecake.....triple yummy if you like cheesecake.

Tomorrow night I am trying her Monterey Chicken. I am changing it up a bit though. We are not fans of onions...so no onions. I am also going to grill the chicken and then cook it in the oven to warm the BBQ sauce and melt the cheese!!!

Next time you are looking for something different for dinner go check out her website!!!

Fourth of July

This fourth of July was very relaxing. Bruce our friend from Beaumont came up to spend the weekend with us. We hung out at the house pretty much all day on Saturday. We had lunch at Which Wich...which is my new favorite sandwich place. We then watched the UFC fight on TV. I don't watch that stuff at all, but Bruce and Kane does. Sunday Bruce went home, we went to Chili's for lunch and then bought some fireworks. He watched the boys across the street pop off their fireworks as we did our sparklers and bottle rockets(I think that is what they were called). I love to look back at Lily's photos over the years. I actually have a picture of every year on the 4th...so here is Lily the past three years....

First Pet

Lily's first pet is two goldfish and one crab. They don't have names yet. We are still working on that:) We are trying to get Lily to sleep back in her own bed. She has been doing really well as long as we are sleeping right there next to her. I have slept on the air mattress the past couple of weeks. At the beginning of this week, I decided it was time for her to sleep by herself without me in the room. Kane and I both have to have some sort of noise when we fall asleep at night. Well, since Lily has always slept with us in our room, she now needs some sort of noise to fall asleep. Therefore, we decide to get her a fish tank:) Well, we told Lily if she slept by herself in her room that we would get her some fish. I did not put Lily down for a nap ALL day because I wanted her to be really tired when she went to bed. So, last night when it was time for bed I told her, "If you stay in your bed ALL night we will go get fish tomorrow." She did put up a good fight in the beginning, but eventually she laid down and went to sleep. She only woke up twice throughout the whole night...yay:) The first thing she said to me this morning was "Fish mommy??" Of course I said "Yes, Lily we will get some fish."
So here is her crab. The guy at Walmart said he was male because he has one big pincher leg!!!

And then her two goldfish.

Here are a few of pictures of her room.

This is what she will see at night while she sleeps.

Up close of the aquarium. I haven't added the fish yet, because you have to let the pump run for a bit and let the water get to room temperature before adding the fish. Lily picked out the castle and the starfish.

Standing back some so you can see her whole dresser!!!

I sure do hope this works. She is really excited about her new fish, so we shall see. If this works then the last thing we need to accomplish this summer is being fully potty trained. She does really well when we are out and about. She loves to visit every restroom of every store we go into:) But when we are at home we forget to tell mommy when we need to go. We do go
number 1 in the potty, but we forget that we need to go number 2 in the potty:) She just turned 2 in March, so I think we are ahead of the game right now!!

Summer List

This summer I wanted to accomplish many things. Here is my list of want I had in mind I wanted to accomplish:

1. Lots of swimming time with Lily
2.Run more I am up to five miles...yay
3. Paint Living Room (not sure this is going to happen)
4. Organize the Play room...almost there
5. Lots of Shopping
6. Go to the gym

Neways, my first project I decide to do was organize Lily's playroom. Lily's playroom is our old dining room. I sold my table back in January or February. I know, I sold my dining room table. Well, considering her room is upstairs and there is NO playroom in this house, I had to find the space somewhere. We never have big family dinners at my house neways, so I said "Why not" it will give me a place to keep ALL the toys. I have actually been very happy with my decision. The only time I missed the extra chairs is when we had her birthday party. But I had extra fold out chairs, so it all worked out. Well, here is what her room looked like before a trip to IKEA...which by the way, I LOVE!!! I can't wait to go back to get more stuff for the house:)

Now here is the room after. I still need a couple more pieces before I am completely satisfied with the room. But I really did not want to spend close to $300 on ALL three pieces.

I got the storage bins there in the middle of the picture yesterday at IKEA.

Lily just got that Kitchen set and Washer and Dryer from my Aunt Patty. It was my cousins when she was a kid. They are probably about 15 years old. They are still in great condition. They just needed a little cleaning and they were like NEW again...thanks Aunt Patty:) Here is Lily cooking me up a yummy meal in her kitchen!!

As for my summer list....well not sure if I will paint the living room. We are going to try and put in hardwood floors this fall, so I was thinking I was just paint then. And going to the gym more, well since I have been running outside ALOT, I figure not going to the gym more is okay. I do go at least once a week, but that is not nearly enough:( As for the rest of my summer is still pretty much the same...laying by the pool and running:) I am going to go to my mom's for a week in July, but that's about it!!! Till next time...have a great fourth of July everyone!!!
